Dragons Put Five in Double Figures in Big Win Over Corry

January 31, 2023

WARREN, Pa. – Warren scored 27 points in the first quarter and put five players in double figures in a 72-52 win over Corry.

Rewatch the game:

Warren (10-6 overall, 3-2 Region 6) was led by Owen Becker’s 18 points, while Braylon Barnes had 17, Brady Berdine 12, Tommy Nyquist 11 and Konnor Hoffman 10.

With Parks Ordiway out of the lineup due to injury, Hoffman went from his usual role of sixth man to starter and made a number of hustle plays for the Dragons.

“We knew we needed to come out and run a little more,” Hoffman, who was named Icyy Ink Player of the Game, said of the Dragons’ offensive philosophy following a heartbreaking loss at the buzzer in their last game against Oil City. “We need to play to our speed and make other teams tired. Corry is a decent team, and I think we proved ourselves tonight. We played pretty well coming off the Oil City game.”

The Dragons had 31 made shots from the floor, 28 of which were 2s, including a steal and dunk from Becker in the third quarter.

Markus Lambert had a game-high 21 points for Corry, while Nate James had 15 points.
