Dragon Golfers Finish Third in First Region 6 Mega Match of Season

FAIRVIEW, Pa. – The Warren boys golf team took third place in the first Region 6 mega match of the season at Beechwood Golf Course.

Braddock Damore finished third overall for the Dragons carding a 73, just behind Cathedral Prep’s Breckin Taylor (70) and Erie’s Kyle Westfall (71).

Prep took first with a team score of 304, followed by McDowell at 321, one stroke ahead of the Dragons’ 322 in Nate Sandberg’s first match as head coach.

Also for the Dragons, Owen Blum carded an 81, Conner Zaffino an 82, Owen Becker an 86, and Reid Olsen a 93.

Also shooting in the 70s were McDowell’s John Ferretti (74), Prep’s Connor Laird (76), Meadville’s Phil Pandolph (77), Prep’s Trey Thompson (78), and Erie’s Evan Nadzam (78) .

Erie finished fourth in the team standings with a total of 329, followed by Hickory at 346, Meadville at 356, and Corry at 363.

The Dragons return to action Wednesday with a mega match at Corry.
