Douvlos Sets Warren Passing Record

WARREN, Pa. – Warren junior quarterback Landon Douvlos set a single-game passing record with 396 yards in the Dragons’ 47-15 win over visiting Moniteau Saturday.

Douvlos completed 17 of his 31 passes and had a pair of touchdowns in his record-setting performance. His first touchdown was a 76-yard bomb to James Swanson, and the second was a 34-yarder to Micah Passmore.

Both Swanson (158) and Passmore (121) were over 100 receiving yards in the game.

After a scoreless first quarter, Swanson opened the scoring in the second with a 9-yard run. The long touchdown reception followed, and Douvlos ran one in from 10 yards out to put Warren (4-3) up 18-0.

Moniteau (2-6) got in the end zone with less than a minute left in the half to cut the deficit to 18-7 at halftime.

Douvlos connected with Passmore to start the second half, and Swanson picked up his second rushing touchdown of the game midway through the third quarter.

Passmore threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Ethan Wilson early in the fourth quarter to stretch the lead to 38-7. Tommy Nyquist ripped off an electrifying 56-yard touchdown run with seven minutes to go for the final Warren points.

Moniteau ran in a score with three minutes to go for the final tally.

Swanson finished with 217 total yards and three scores. Passmore had 145 total yards with one receiving touchdown and another passing.

Warren will look for its fourth straight win next Saturday when the Dragons welcome Franklin to War Memorial Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
