David R. Thomas, 77, of 161 Thayer St., Jamestown, passed away Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at UPMC Chautauqua.
He was born Oct. 16, 1943, in Jamestown, the son of David and Genevieve Anderson Tho-mas
David was a longtime iron worker and had been employed at Southern Tier Window Erection and later for Hampton Inn.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
David was a member of Lakewood Rod and Gun. He loved cars, trains, country and western and Blue Grass music. He also en-joyed trying out many different restaurants.
In addition to his wife, Linda Arnold Thomas, he is survived by three children: Lynn (John) Higbie and Christine (Mike) Sobocinski of Jamestown, and Mark (Jen) Thomas of Erie, Pa.; eight grandchildren: Alyssa and Dakota Nadolny, Dylan Stockhausen, Soren and Liam Thomas, Dane and Timothy Sobocinski, and Cecelia (An-drew) Warner; a great-grandson, Alden Warner; brother,Daniel Paula) Tho-mas of Florida’ a sister,Sue Ann Seal of Jamestown; step-niece, Arden; and a step-phew, David.
He was predeceased by his parents.
The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m., Wednesday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg.
