Andy CloseDaniel D. Case, 61, of Youngsville, Pa., passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022, at the John and Orpha Blair Hospice House in Warren, after a long battle with cancer.
He was born on March 30, 1960, in Warren, a son to the late Richard and Sondra (Haehn) Case. In 1978 he joined the United States Navy, serving as a maintenance technician. After the Navy, Dan went on to work at Struthers, Torpedo Wire, Sylvania, ENE Plastics, Blair, Preferred Enterprises, and most recently, Cummins. Dan was a member of the Youngsville American Legion Post 658. He loved spending time hunting, fishing, bowling, and playing darts and pool. Dan was a wrestler and football player in high school and enjoyed watching throughout the years thereafter. Most of all, he loved helping others.
He is survived by his wife, Leslie Bailey Case, whom he married on November 30, 2007, in Youngsville; his children, Mike (Jackie) Case, Brittney (Zackery) Eriksen and Anthony “Tony” Case; his siblings, Christine (Allen) Case Crocker, Tim (Tami) Case, both of Youngsville; his grandchildren, Jaylynn, Mason, Rori and Presley Case, Blaine, Shaw, Regulus, and Evangeline Eriksen; his great-grandson, Harvi Lee Linville; his nieces and nephews, Shauna Cassidy Ressler, Ryan Cassidy Nichols, Erin Cassidy, Colby Case, Melani Grady Decker, Megan Grady, and Katie Case.
In addition to his parents, Daniel was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Case, and his sister, Julie Case Cassidy.
A celebration of life gathering will be held on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at the Youngsville American Legion Post 658, 10 N. Main St., Youngsville, Pa 16371, starting at 4:00 pm. Members of the Youngsville American Legion Honor Guard will provide full military honors at 4:30 pm. Per Dan’s request, he will be buried at sea.
