Crary Art Gallery Set to Welcome Pair of Solo Exhibitions

January 19, 2023

WARREN, Pa. – The Crary Art Gallery will be welcoming a pair of new solo exhibitions beginning on Feb. 4 and running through March 5.

The two exhibitions are “Boro Land” featuring the work of Adam Cooley and “Animal Exposition – Newspring Transformations” featuring the work of Carol McDonald.

The opening reception for the exhibitions will be on Feb. 4 from 3-6 p.m.

“Boro Land” is a world cobbled and layered together, where fantastical things are forged out of the unwanted and forgotten. It is a window into a reinterpreted world.

Find out more about Cooley, who splits his time between Cuba (NY) and Japan, and his work on his website, iamadamcooley.com.

Using recycled elements, such as coat hangers, Styrofoam packing, newspapers, and phone books for strength and shape, the goal of Tionesta resident McDonald’s work is to create wildlife with individual characteristics, encouraging the viewer to take a second look.

McDonald hopes through her art to increase appreciation for wildlife and the need to have a healthy environment for all.
