Andy CloseClaudia H. Gilson Pontious, 70, of Warren, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Dec.15, 2021, at her residence.
Claudia was born on Oct. 29, 1951, in Warren, the daughter of the late Richard Sr. and Margaret Bathurst Gilson. Claudia worked for the Commonwealth of PA Board of Assistance for 30 years, retiring in 2006.
She enjoyed antiquing, estate sales and rescuing animals. She was a member of the Trinity Memorial Episcopal Church. Claudia enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren.
Claudia is survived by her husband, Rodrick S. Pontious, whom she married on May 26, 1975; two children: Adam Pontious and Whitney Pontious, both of Tulsa, Okla; three siblings: Eileen Williams of Erie, Pa., Richard Gilson Jr. of Lackawanna, N.Y., and Anne Gilson (Judy Davis) of Brevard, N.C.; three grandchildren: Jamie Gil-son, Dylan and Bryan Wells; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
