City of Warren Fire Chief Wren Departing For New Post

WARREN, Pa. – Rodney Wren is moving on from his post as City of Warren fire chief.

Wren is leaving for the same position in Florence, Ky. Dave Krogler will take over as acting fire chief, it was announced at Monday’s Warren City Council meeting.

“It gets him closer to home,” said City of Warren Mayor Maurice Cashman of Wren, who formerly served as a Shift Deputy Chief for the City of Huntington, W.Va. “He will oversee 75 firefighters.”

Also during Monday’s meeting, Don Nelson, a long-time member of the City of Warren Planning Commission issued his letter of resignation, which was read by Cashman.

“Due to personal reasons, I am resigning from the Warren City Planning Commission effective immediately,” Nelson’s letter read. “It has been my pleasure to serve the city, and I look forward to the future as we enter into an exciting time. Thank you all for your service and commitment to our community.”

Cashman said that Nelson will be missed.

“He was always very enthusiastic,” Cashman said. “It’s with regret that we accept this.”
