CLARENDON, Pa. – The annual Smokey Bear Night is Saturday, September 2 at 6:30pm.
Everyone is invited to join Smokey in a parade around the lower loop of the campground, on foot or by bike (helmets are required). The Parade will start at the Amphitheater and end at Pavilion 4. After the parade we will learn all about forest fire prevention with DCNR Bureau of Forestry. Smokey turned 79 this year, lets celebrate!
I also want to take the time to thank all of you that have participated in the programs at the park this year. As many of you know, I am a seasonal employee, and sadly, Friday, August 25 is my last day of the season. I will return in late January to pick up where I left off with environmental education and outdoor recreation programs. It has been a wonderful season here at Chapman. I have truly enjoyed meeting all of the great park visitors and sharing my love of the environment with you. I look forward to seeing you all again next year!
