Your love and caring went from your hands to our hands and now we place you in God’s hands. Brenda Scelene Lucas Garris, 81, a resident of the Rouse Home in Youngsville and formerly of Warren passed away peacefully on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the Rouse Home.
Born January 14, 1940 in Sigel, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Gerald (Dave) and Wilka Asel Lucas. She was employed for 37 years as a Ward Clerk at Warren General Hospital in the Maternity Department, retiring when she was 65. She loved flower gardening, walking, hiking, kayaking and traveling. Brenda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She attended various methodist churches, most recently attending the Covenant United Methodist Church in Warren and worship services at the Rouse Home.
Surviving are a daughter, Denise G. Hall (John Elmquist) of Warren; a son, Todd A. Garris (Laura) of Youngsville; a sister, Glenda Blakeslee (Stan) of Youngsville; a brother, Terry Lucas (Ann Jones) of Pittsfield; 3 grandchildren, Samantha, Steven and Colton Garris; several nieces and nephews, and great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Arnold; and a niece, Karina Blakeslee.
