“Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19,” the tweet read. “We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately. We will get through this TOGETHER!”

The Tweet, sent just before 1 a.m. Friday, came just hours after the White House announced top aide Hope Hicks had tested positive for the virus. In response, Trump announced he would be quarantining while awaiting the results of his own test.

Hicks had traveled with the president multiple times this week, including aboard Air Force One and Marine One, according to an Associated Press report. Among those trips were the first presidential debate in Cleveland Tuesday, and a rally in Minnesota Wednesday.
