Search Ongoing for Missing Child in Limestone Township

TIDIOUTE, Pa. – Warren-based Pennsylvania State Police and multiple other agencies are searching for a 2-year old female child who went missing at approximately 11 a.m. Saturday morning in the Tidioute area.

UPDATE: The child was found deceased on Aug. 22.

PSP Warren received a report Saturday morning of a missing child in the vicinity of Valley View Lane in Limestone Township.

Upon arrival, it was determined the child left her residence and walked to an area close to the Alleghany River near the above location,” a PSP release stated. “It is suspected the child fell into the river. A tracking canine was utilized to follow the childs scent from her bedroom to an area on the river where it is highly suspected she fell into the high moving water.”

A search is currently being conducted with all PSP and local resources being utilized to locate the child. Anyone with information is asked to immediately contact the Warren State Police Barracks at 814-728-3600.

Assisting in the search are PSP Warren Troopers, PSP helicopter, McKean County Tracking Canine, PA Fish and Boat Commission, Tionesta, Hickory and Tidioute VFDs, and the McKean County Special Operations Group Dive Team.
