Indoor Dining, HS Sports Restrictions Will End Jan. 4

HARRISBURG – Governor Tom Wolf confirmed today that the temporary restrictions on indoor dining, fitness and entertainment venues and high school sports will be lifted at 8 a.m. Monday.

The restrictions, in place since Dec. 12, did not allow for any indoor dining, put a pause on high school and youth sports and closed gyms, movie theaters and bowling alleys, among others. Wolf said the restrictions were necessary to slow the rapid increase of COVID-19 cases throughout the Commonwealth.

“We can all have hope that next year we’ll be in a lot better place,” Wolf said. “That should energize us to keep our guard up and continue to fight against COVID-19.”

Mask requirements, business capacity limits, restaurant self-certification and other mitigation orders put in place prior to the Dec. 12 restrictions remain in place.
