SHEFFIELD, Pa. – Mike Barr has been recommended as the new varsity football coach at Sheffield Area Middle/High School, YourDailyLocal.com confirmed on Thursday.
Supervisor of District-Wide Athletics and Co-Curricular Activities Rick Gignac confirmed that the Warren County School District went through its interview process for the position and that Barr will now be recommended to the school board for approval at its March 8 meeting.
The Sheffield football program played in one game in 2020 before having to forfeit the remainder of its season due to low numbers.
The Wolverines were without their traditional Abraxas co-op in 2020 due to COVID 19 concerns, but Gignac said that the plan is for the co-op to resume in 2021.
“They have every intention of participating at this point in time,” he said.
