WARREN, Pa. – A 6-run fourth inning propelled Bradford to a 7-5 win over Warren in Boys Minors All-Stars play at Betts-Jackson Field on Tuesday.
Four of the first five Bradford batters reached in the inning, on three hits and a walk. Peter Gilligan’s 2-out triple was the only extra base hit of the inning.
The loss knocked Warren out of the District 10 tournament.
Warren, playing as the visiting team after Bradford won the pre-game coin toss, struck for a run in the top of the first inning. Keegan Weissinger drew a 2-out walk and Ty Bryan followed with an RBI double.
Eli Haynoski hit a leadoff double, then scored, in the bottom of the inning to tie the game at 1-1.
Warren scored another run with two outs in the fourth. James Alexander singled and stole second, then came home on Matt Shippee’s single to give Warren a 2-1 advantage.
A 3-run fifth for Warren closed the gap. Weissinger drew a leadoff walk and Bryan followed with an RBI single. Bryan scored on Jack Abplanalp’s ground out, and Jaret Lang singled and scored later in the inning for the final run.
