Bonita M. Felton

Bonita M. (Bonnie) Felton, 84, of Sheffield passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, at the Lutheran Home in Kane.

She was born on August 9, 1936 in Sheffield, the daughter of Leroy Felton and Dora (Simmerline) Felton. Bonnie was a lifelong resident of Sheffield and was a 1954 graduate of Sheffield High School. Most of Bonnie’s career was spent as a Counselor for the Buffalo State Hospital.

After retirement she had several hobbies she enjoyed: jigsaw puzzles, playing games on the computer and she would knit dishtowels and give them to family and countless friends. She was a member of the Sheffield VFW Women’s Auxiliary. For relaxation, Bonnie would read a romance novel or root on her favorite football team, the Buffalo Bills.

Left behind to cherish Bonnie’s memory are her sons, Patrick Gilson of Sheffield and Robert Coccaro of Warren, as well as two grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Ron and Cecil Felton; four sisters, Mary (Felton) McAulay, Lillian Zevotek, Leona McAulay and Edith Felton.

Bonnie’s family will welcome family and friends on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Borden Funeral Home of Sheffield. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Randall Frenz officiating. Burial will be private for the family.
