Big Third Inning Helps Lift Youngsville Past Union City

YOUNGSVILLE, Pa. – Youngsville scored six runs in the third inning and two in the fourth before holding off a Union City rally in a 9-8 victory.

Alex Kemery went 5 ⅓ innings to earn the win. He allowed seven runs (three earned) on eight hits and reached double-digit strikeouts with 11.

The Eagles took advantage of five errors and nine walks by the Bears. Keegan Mesel and Jason Beers and Derek Lucks had two hits apiece, with Lucks and Matt DeSimone driving in runs. Lucks got the save with a scoreless seventh.

Kyle Myers went 2-for-4 with two RBIs and Matthew Bennett was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Union City.

Shane Uber took the loss, allowing six earned runs in 2 ⅔ innings.
