Big Fifth Inning Sends Warren Baseball Past LeBoeuf; Eisenhower Baseball, Warren Softball Fall

WATERFORD, Pa. – Warren scored five runs in the fifth inning on its way to a 7-5 win over Fort LeBoeuf.

The Dragons led 7-1 and withstood a LeBoeuf rally that saw the Bison score three times in the sixth inning.

In the fifth for Warren, Owen Blum had an RBI single, CJ Wyman a 2-run single, and Archie Teconchuk an RBI single. Ben Sowa also hit into a double play, which brought in another run.

Blum had two hits for the Dragons, while Brady Berdine was also 1-for-2 with an RBI, two walks, and a run. The Dragons took advantage of 10 free passes issued by Bison pitching.

Carson Farr got the win, going 4 ⅓ innings and allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits, striking out five and walking three.

Kyle Myers was 3-for-5 with an RBI to lead LeBoeuf, while Matt Herr had an RBI double and scored two runs and Connor Sell and Jake Schmidt had one RBI each.

Schmidt took the loss, allowing four runs in 4 ⅓ innings on two hits while striking out five and walking seven.

SAEGERTOWN 14, EISENHOWER 1, 5 INNINGS

SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – Henry Shaffer doubled, tripled, and drove in four runs as Saegertown scored nine runs in the fourth inning en route to a 14-1, 5-inning win over Saegertown.

Connor Shaw was 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBIs for the Panthers, while Wyatt Burchill was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs, Joe Grundy was 3-for-4 with an RBI and two runs, Shaffer also scored three runs and Garrett Crawford was 1-for-2 with an RBI and two runs.

Zirkle got the win, going four innings and allowing one run on two hits, striking out one and walking five.

JJ Darr was 1-for-1 with an RBI single for Eisenhower.

Johnny Palmieri took the loss, allowing 14 runs (eight earned) in 3 ⅔ innings on 14 hits, striking out one and walking three.

SOFTBALL

ELK COUNTY CATHOLIC 15, WARREN 0, 4 innings

ST. MARYS, Pa. – Elk County Catholic belted four home runs in a 15-0, 4-inning win over Warren.

Ellie Baron, Emily Mourer, Reagan Bauer, and Syd Alexander all went deep for the Lady Crusaders.

Mourer finished 3-for-4 with four RBIs as ECC had 19 hits, scoring nine runs in the fourth inning to put the game away.

Baron was 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBIs, while Alexander was 4-for-4 with two runs and an RBI, Bauer was 2-for-2 with three runs and two RBIs, Lydia Anderson was 3-for-3 with two doubles, three RBIs, and two runs and Gabby Weisner was 3-for-3 with a double, RBI and two runs.

Mourer tossed four shutout innings, striking out three, walking one, and allowing two hits.

Halle Kuzminski had both hits for Warren. Lillian Devore took the loss, allowing 15 earned runs in 3 ⅔ innings on 16 hits and four walks.
