Beers, Knights Walk-Off Against Maplewood

RUSSELL, Pa. – Jared Beers delivered the walk-off winner as Eisenhower earned a wild 9-8 win over Maplewood.

Maplewood led 3-2 before Eisenhower struck for six runs in the fifth inning to take an 8-3 lead. Maplewood responded, scoring five runs in the sixth to tie it up.

Cole Chapman (single), Dillon Benson (single), Owen Trumbull (2-run single), and Beers (single) all drove in runs in the big fifth inning for the Knights.

Trumbull, Beers, and Teagan Gray all had two hits and two RBIs each for the Knights. Chapman also had two hits.

Kael Hunt got the win in relief. He went 4 ⅔ innings, allowing five runs on three hits and five walks, striking out four.

Noah Burk drove in two runs for the Tigers and Stuart Hochstetler, Ethan Peterson, Michael Wickstrom, and Isaac Williams one each.

Burk took the loss, allowing three runs (two earned) in 1 ⅔ innings.
