Beaty girls win again

OIL CITY, Pa. – The Beaty 8th grade girls basketball team moved to 5-0 with a road win over Oil City on Thursday, 42-19.

Leading Beaty were Alana Stuart with 17 points, followed by Alyssa Farr with 7, Leyna Irwin 6, Lindsay Madigan 5, Delaney Wright 3 and Katie Korgler 2. Lily Walker and Meea Irwin were the leaders on defense in the press.

Beaty will host Sheffield on Oct. 8.

The 7th grade team picked up back-to-back wins on Monday and Tuesday, 33-2 over Rocky Grove and 30-22 over Eisenhower.

Against Rocky Grove, Meea Irwin poured in 18 points, while Zoe Rodgers added 6 and Jenna Kophazy on top of a strong defensive game.

In the Eisenhower win, Leyna and Meea Irwin scored 10 points each, while Rodgers added 6. Clara Steinberg had 8 for Eisenhower.
