Bauer Sets Rushing Record as Knights Win Region 2 Title

October 22, 2022

LAWRENCE PARK, Pa. – Benji Bauer broke the school single-season rushing record and Eisenhower clinched the Region 2 title outright with a 48-6 win at Iroquois.

Bauer ran for 145 yards on 10 carries to give him 1,621 yards for the season. That broke the school’s previous record of 1,586 set by Steve Witte in 1991. This is the second rushing record Bauer has set this season. He scored five rushing touchdowns in the Knights’ win over Seneca.

He also scored three touchdowns and ran in a 2-point conversion in the win at Iroquois.

Eisenhower (9-0 overall, 5-0 Region 2) had secured at least a share of the region crown with its win at Northwestern last week but won the title outright with the victory over the Braves (0-9, 0-5).

Tucker Lindell had another solid game on the ground with four carries for 73 yards and a 2-point conversion. Keegan Eckstrom had five carries for 58 yards and two TDs and caught a 61-yard touchdown pass.

Shawn Pascuzzi was 4-8 passing for 108 yards and a touchdown. He also had a pick-six defensively.

The region title is Eisenhower’s second in three years. The Knights won the Region 5 crown in 2020.
