“Bash at The Dam Inn” Saturday to Raise Funds for Honor Flight

WILCOX, Pa. – A silent auction and cornhole tournament will be used to raise money for the Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight at The Dam Inn in Wilcox on Saturday.

The event tabbed “Bash at The Dam Inn,” will be held from Noon – 11 p.m. and will also include live music and games for kids under 12. There is a $5 cover charge, though veterans and kids under 12 will be admitted free of charge.

All proceeds will benefit the Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight, which is part of the National Honor Flight Network.

The program “recognizes United States Veterans for their sacrifices and achievements by flying them to Washington, DC to see their memorials at no cost to the Veteran,” the Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight website said. “Priority is given to WWII Veterans, Korean War, and Vietnam Veterans, and terminally ill Veterans from all wars are eligible.”

Registration for Saturday’s cornhole tournament will begin at Noon. Basket raffles and 50/50 drawings will be held throughout the event, and kids games will be available from 1 – 7 p.m. Live music will be provided by Music for Veterans (Noon – 2 p.m.), Mick Marshall (2 – 4 p.m.), J.B. Unplugged (6 – 8 p.m.), and One Last Breath (8 – 11 p.m.).

The next Honor Flight mission is scheduled for Oct. 22, 2022.

Buffalo Niagara Honor Flight serves seven counties in southwestern New York, along with Warren, Potter, and McKean Counties in Pennsylvania and southern Ontario, Canada.

The group will hold its annual Golf Tournament on Sept. 14 at the Diamond Hawk Golf Course in Cheektowaga, New York.
