Alpha Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Preparing for 65th Birthday Celebration

June 15, 2021

The Alpha Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma recently held its monthly meeting virtually, with the society is preparing for the chapter’s 65th birthday celebration.

A powerpoint will be presented at the DKG Convention in Scranton this month and at the local celebration and dinner to be held later this year.

The Chapter’s Grant-in-Aid, Lucy Belleau, graduated from Mercyhurst University on May 16 with a BA in Spanish Education.

The members have been supporting Belleau in her endeavors the past few years through scholarships and encouragement.

Delta Kappa Gamma is an International Professional Honor Society whose mission is to promote the professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.

This year, the local chapter is hosting its first DKG Virtual Independence 5K Run/Walk. Participants can run or walk their race anywhere at any time on or near the 4th of July. All proceeds will support scholarships for individuals seeking degrees in education.

The cost is $25. Everyone registered by June 19, 2021 receives a t-shirt that can be picked up at Icyy Ink (located at 2043 Pennsylvania Avenue, Warren) or it can be shipped directly to you. There is also an option to make a monetary donation to support the scholarship. The link to the registration is below: https://runsignup.com/Race/PA/Sheffield/DKGVirtualIndependenceRunWalk
