Alpha Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Continuing to Make a Difference

February 16, 2021

Despite not being able to meet in person, the Alpha Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma has been getting together via zoom for both business and social meetings led by President Janet Peterson.  Delta Kappa Gamma promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education.

Gift cards were distributed in the fall to all the newly hired Warren County School District teachers to use for their classrooms.  In addition, many members adopted a new teacher to encourage and support throughout the school year. The chapter made a donation to the First United Methodist Logos program in memory of Mary Merenick who was a long-standing member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Each year the society selects a graduate of the Warren County School District graduate majoring in education to award a scholarship and to assist and encourage during the junior and senior years of college.  The recipient this year is Lucy Belleau, a senior at Mercyhurst University majoring in Spanish Education.

The Alpha Mu Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma will look forward to celebrating 65 years of continued growth this year.
