Activities On, Vendors Off at Winterfest Friday

February 4, 2022

WARREN, Pa. – While a heavy blanket of snow would typically be ideal for Winterfest weekend, the amount dumped on the region over the last two days forced a bit of a change to Friday’s planned activities.

The Warren County Chamber of Business and Industry announced that there will be no vendors, food or craft, on-site at Chapman State Park Friday due to weather conditions. Additionally, Friday’s sled dog races were canceled, according to Chapman State Park.

“WCCBI takes the safety of all very seriously,” the organization said in a Facebook post. “If you feel unsafe traveling, stay home.”

The sledding hill will remain open to the public and the Family Movie Night featuring Disney’s Frozen presented by the Warren County YMCA is still scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.

WCCBI said it will have hot cocoa available “by donation” Friday, with proceeds benefitting the Warren YMCA.

The change to Winterfest is just the latest in the number of closings and delays brought on by Winter Storm Landon over the last two days.
