22 New COVID Cases Tuesday, Over 100 New Cases in Two Weeks

November 25, 2020

WARREN, Pa. – For the third time this month, Warren County had a single-day high in new COVID-19 cases with 22 new cases reported Tuesday.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health COVID-19 Dashboard update Wednesday, Warren County had 21 confirmed and one probable case reported Tuesday. That brings the county’s cumulative case count to 194 cases, 171 confirmed and 23 probable.

Tuesday was the third time since Nov. 9 that the county has set a single-day high for reported cases.

In the last two weeks, from Nov. 11 through Nov. 24, the county has seen 101 new cases. Warren County had 106 total cases from March 24 through Nov. 13.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in Warren County increased from three to eight, according to the dashboard data. None are in the adult intensive care unit or are on ventilators, according to the dashboard.

The rapid case increase has led to numerous businesses and organizations to close for periods and cancel events, including: The Warren County Courthouse and City of Warren Municipal Building, The Plaza Restaurant (has reopened), Jefferson DeFrees Family Daycare, Warren Public Library and others.

In response to the statewide case increase, the Wolf Administration has announced a series of targeted mitigation efforts the last two weeks. The first focused on travel and masking, while the second took aim at gatherings, both in public and at home, and put a temporary halt to on-site alcohol sales from 5 p.m. Wednesday until 8 a.m. Thursday.

Despite the rise in cases over the last two weeks, the county still only has a single reported death.

The cumulative case count includes those cases the state considers “recovered.”

A case is considered recovered “if a case has not been reported as a death, and it is more than 30 days past the date of their first positive test (or onset of symptoms) then an individual is considered recovered,” according to the Department of Health.
