May 10, 2024

WARREN, Pa. – Registration for the 2024 City of Warren Summer Playground Program opens on Monday, May 13.

The city will offer programming at Beaty, Crescent, and Lacy Parks this summer. Ten supervisors will staff the three parks.

“All supervisors will be CPR and First Aid certified and will take part in a mandated reporter training at our June training,” Program Supervisor Kassie Damcott said.

Registration is open to any child aged 7 – 13 (children under 7 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian). The Playground Program will run from June 17 – Aug. 9, and playgrounds will be open from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, weather permitting. The only scheduled closure is July 4.

The registration form can be found here, and completed forms can be emailed to Damcott at [email protected].

“My email is on there so people can just fill it out and email it to me,” Damcott said. “They don’t have to drop it off or mail it in.”

Some things already on the summer schedule include a Seawolves baseball game sponsored by Superior Rubber & Tire Corp, Erie Zoo, Betts Park field day sponsored by Elks Lodge #223, Warren Public Library, Beaty Park Water War days, Warren County Fair sponsored by American Legion Post #135, and Chapman Dam trip sponsors by Whirley Drinkworks.

Visits from the Audubon sponsored by Jones Chevrolet, Garden Club, Music Conservatory, Warren County K9’s, City Police and Fire, body safety presentation by A Safe Place, and Warren County Children’s Advocacy Center Facility Dog Tiger and Executive Director Melissa McLean are also planned.

Entrance fees for the C.A.R. Pool will be $2, with an additional $1 transportation fee ($0.50 each way for the TAWC bus).

Damcott said she is also accepting donations for playground items such as outdoor games, sidewalk chalk, crafting supplies, or sponsoring a program.

“Monetary, sponsoring a pizza day, crafts, sports equipment, anything is appreciated,” Damcott said.

Anyone wishing to donate should contact Damcott at 814-723-6300 ext. 120 or at [email protected].
